More activity is not the same as management capability
Organizations often have ideas, workshops, innovation teams, accelerators, or individual projects. What they lack is the management system connecting those activities to strategic choices, investment decisions, learning, governance, and value.
The result is familiar:
- too many disconnected initiatives;
- unclear sponsorship and decision rights;
- projects selected without shared criteria;
- resources spread across low-value activity;
- innovation separated from corporate strategy;
- learning that remains inside individual teams; and
- outcomes that are difficult to measure or repeat.
An Innovation Management System changes how the organization makes and governs innovation decisions—not only how it generates ideas.
